Apprentice Class

Apprentice Class students will learn vocal techniques, harmony, expression, and dynamics through vocal warmup session and learning concert songs throughout class time. I will focus on teaching students to produce beautiful and round sound with clear diction. The repertoire will consist of folk, sacred, Chinese, and seasonal songs either in unison or two parts.

Students will also learn simple music theory such as note recognition, rhythm, and basic music terminology, as well as sight singing using the Kodaly method (Solfege). Games will be incorporated to make learning more lively and relatable. When time permits, I will engage the class in listening to music pieces from different genres along with explanation and discussion to spark students’ interest and appreciation in music. 

My goal is to make singing and learning music a fun and soul freeing experience. I am looking forward to working with each of the students God will bring to my class! 

初級班的學生在課堂中介由發聲訓練及練習表演歌曲的方法來學習發聲技巧、和聲、歌曲表達的能力。 我將專注於教學生用清晰的措辭發出優美圓潤的聲音。 曲目將包括一到兩聲部的民歌、聖歌、中國歌和時令歌曲。

學生將會學習簡單的音樂理論，例如音符識別、節奏和基本音樂術語，以及使用 Kodaly 方法（Solfege）來學習視唱。 我也會用遊戲的方式讓學習更加生動有趣。 在時間允許的情況下，我會用聆聽不同音樂作品，並進行解釋和討論，來激發學生對音樂的興趣和欣賞。

我的目標是讓學生們快樂的學習唱歌和音樂。 我期待帶著上帝賜給我的學生們一起同遊音樂的世界！
