EVCC currently offers three primary classes for students from kindergarten through high school.
We also offer two supplemental classes for students.
And a parent's choir for everyone above high school.

PRIMARY CLASSES
APPRENTICE CLASS
(A Class)
Kindergarten through 2nd grade
Students in the Apprentice Class learn simple music theory such as note recognition, rhythm, and basic music terminology as well as sight singing using the Kodaly method (Solfège). Games are also incorporated to make learning more lively and relatable. When time permits, classes engage in listening to music pieces from different genres along with explanation and discussion to spark interest and appreciation in music.
Our goal is to cultivate musical interest and love in our students.

INTERMEDIATE CLASS
(B Class)
3rd grade through 5th grade
Intermediate Class students learn vocal techniques, harmony, expression, and dynamics through vocal warm up sessions and learning concert songs. Students focus on producing beautiful and round sound with clear diction. The repertoire will consist of folk, sacred, Chinese, and seasonal songs either in unison or two parts.

CONCERT CLASS
(C Class)
6th grade through 12th grade
This advanced class requires previous choir experience. Every member’s tone quality is focused upon and vocalized. Working as a team and practicing cooperation with other choir members is a priority.
In this class, different genres of music are presented. Some examples include Broadway, Disney, contemporary Christian, and classical music. We also have pieces in different languages corresponding to their styles. The languages are (and not limited to) English, Chinese, Italian, and German. In addition, we teach how to sing in ensembles, duets, trios, and others. We also develop solo singing in this class. We will help every member to find their best voice.
高級班需具備合唱經驗。課程將注重每位團員的音色與聲音運用，並重視團隊合作與團員之間的協調練習。

CHAMBER CHOIR

The Chamber Choir is an advanced vocal ensemble made up of students who demonstrate strong musical ability, vocal technique, and ensemble skills. Membership is determined through an audition process and selection is made by the music director. This advanced group performs a diverse repertoire with an emphasis on musical excellence, blend, and expressive performance. Chamber Choir members are expected to exhibit a high level of commitment, discipline, and teamwork. The Chamber Choir will often represent the EVCC at special performances, festivals, and community events.

PARENT CHOIR
The Parents' Choir is a community outreach ministry. Choir Members include both parents from the Children's Choirs, and friends who love music and love to sing! During rehearsal, parent choir director Ms. Fong always shares with Choir members the love of our Lord Jesus Christ and the American culture from the meanings of the lyrics in the hymns and songs. With this purpose in mind, prayerfully, all the participating parents will have the opportunity to grow in their knowledge and relationship with the God who loves them.
家長合唱團是一個社區外展事工。團員包括兒童合唱團的家長以及熱愛音樂、喜歡歌唱的朋友們！在每次排練中，家長合唱團指揮老師都會透過詩歌歌詞的含義，與團員們分享主耶穌基督的愛以及美國文化。秉持這樣的宗旨，我們盼望每一位參與的家長，都能更深認識所信的上帝，

Teaching Contents:
These include the basic to enhanced skills in Music Theory, in Singing, and in Choral performance.
The music Repertoire comes from religious hymns and classical to contemporary songs.

SUPPLEMENTAL CLASSES
SIGHT READING CLASSES
Our sight reading class is designed to give your child the tools to become a confident, independent musician. In this class, students learn how to read music fluently — recognizing notes, rhythms, and patterns without needing to hear the song first. These skills help them learn new repertoire more quickly, sing with better accuracy, and actively participate in rehearsals and performances. As their music reading improves, so does their confidence and enjoyment of choir. Ultimately, this class strengthens each singer’s foundation and supports the overall growth and excellence of the choir.
All students are required to be in either sight reading class or Chamber Choir.

CERTIFICATE OF MERIT CLASS
The Certificate of Merit (CM) class is designed to prepare students for participation in the annual MTAC Certificate of Merit evaluation program. This structured class focuses on building well-rounded musicianship through the study of technique, repertoire, sight reading, ear training, and music theory. Students enrolled in the CM class work toward specific level goals, culminating in a formal evaluation conducted by certified adjudicators. Participation in this class promotes disciplined practice, comprehensive musical development, and readiness for both performance and academic assessment. Enrollment is recommended for dedicated students seeking a recognized path of musical achievement.
